Boycott the Football World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
No to pollution and the non-respect for the environment (football in the desert is as fucking stupid as winter olympic games where the snow does not fall).
No to the dictatorship of money and the non-respect of basic human rights.

I implore you to boycott this threat against humanity:
Otherwise:
It’s time to stop consuming and polluting for nothing. Earth is burning and there is no planet B (even Elon Musk won’t save you).

I’m so sad to see how stupid you human beings can be.
What about fighting together against the apocalypse that is coming very soon instead of shooting ourselves in the foot like fools?
Hey fucking dude, wake up! Look up!

If you’re ready to make some efforts, you’re welcome to my website. Otherwise there is no hope…

📰 Friday 2. April 2021: upp is a panda companion. It’s a Lua-scriptable lightweight text preprocessor.
🆕 since December 2020: Playing with the actor model in an embedded multicore context. C imperative components become C stream pure functions with no side effect ➡️ C low level programming with high level pure functional programming properties 🏆
📰 Saturday 30. January 2021: Playing with Pandoc Lua filters in Lua. panda is a lightweight alternative to abp providing a consistent set of Pandoc filters (text substitution, file inclusion, diagrams, scripts, …).
🆕 Sunday 24. May 2020: Working at EasyMile for more than 5 years. Critical real-time software in C, simulation and monitoring in Haskell ➡️ perfect combo! It’s efficient and funny ;-)

ADSL modems on Linux

*box / ethernet modems with DHCP

A lot of providers use ethernet modems and the DHCP protocol. Thus the pump command can simply establish the connection. The following script can also automatize the connection at each boot.

Just download and run this script: box

Speedtouch USB/330

note
This script has been fixed for Knoppix 5. I don’t have this modem anymore and can not test it. Some users (not all) have reported that the connection is now possible with Knoppix 5.

Installation with kernels 2.4 and 2.6

Known modems:

This script allows the connection from Knoppix installed on the hard disk or from the live CD.

note
This script (not necessarily the last version) is included in Kaella and is found in the Knoppix menu.

Just download and run this script: speedtouch-usb

I hope this works because I can’t make it simpler…

Sources

This script is a self-extracting archive. For the curious, here is how it is generated.

You’ll need these files:

build
Archive generation script adsl
Connection script SpeedTouch330_firmware_3012.zip
Firmwares firmware
Firmware extraction usb.agent
Missing file for Knoppix 5 hotplug.functions ! Missing file for Knoppix 5

The build script extracts the firmwares from the zip file and produces a tar bzip2-compressed file. This archive is then concatenated to a script that decompresses the archive and run the adsl script.

For further information, please visit Self-extracting Archive HOWTO.

Thanks

Yann Cochard
for choosing this script for Kaella, Helmuth Breitenfellner
for the german translation, knoppix-fr.org
for many tests and remarks, and …
all these I forget.
